Game Loft News

Summer Schedule Changes

The Boys of the 13th Maine have claimed the Wendesday spot and the Vast Army of Women are happier with Tuesday so in response we have switched the days.

The Boys of the 13th game will begin July 8 and the Vast Army of Women game will begin on Tuesday July 7th.

Ray will be meeting with players next week to go over characters and player packets.

Also, Evan will not be able to run his games because of his work schedule. For the moment we have removed War Machine and Pirates from the schedule. As soon as his schedule clarifies we will reinstate the games.

Rio Greely has a great Star Wars RPG coming in July. Watch for more details.

New D&D Game coming

Exciting News for Friday nights. A second D&D game will begin July 10th moderated by none other than Board President Silas Walsh with Dean Hustus serving as co-moderator. Silas and Dean will run this game for six mid-level experienced players in the Forgotten Realms setting. Please see Dean about character design and back story development by June 19. Hurry, seats are limited!

Governor's Youth Volunteer of the Year - James Knight

On April 21 Game Loft member James Knight was honored at a ceremony in the Hall of Flags at the State House in Augusta as the Governor's Youth Volunteer of the Year. A reception in his honor was held at Scoops Ice Cream Parlour in Belfast on that following Friday where Mayor Walter Ash read a proclamation honoring James' achievement. James' record of volunteerism sets a standard that we proud of and he is a credit to The Game Loft, his community and his generation.

To Our Loyal Friends and Supporters

December 1, 2008

We are pleased to announce that, The Game Loft, working in partnership with Broadreach Family and Community Services {formerly Waldo County Pre-School and Family Services} has regained the Tobacco Settlement funding for Waldo County. This funding will allow Broadreach to bring their service learning program, Youthlinks, to Waldo County and The Game Loft to fund it's new Trailblazers program, starting this January on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Watch the Courier for more details on this exciting new development in programming. Although The Loft will be sharing the tobacco settlement money with Broadreach the Board of Directors and the Executive Directors are certain that the long-term benefits of this relationship will outweigh the short term loss of revenue. Thank you for all your support. Without the advocacy of our community this would not have happened.
